How to Spot the Warning Signs of a Worn Tyre
Tyres are the unsung heroes of the road, but worn tyres can be a hidden danger. Here’s how to spot issues before they turn into problems.
1. Tread Depth:
Check your tread depth regularly. If it’s below 1.6mm, it’s time for a replacement. Uneven wear could signal alignment issues or improper inflation.
2. Cracks or Bulges:
Inspect for visible damage like cracks, bulges, or cuts. These could lead to blowouts if ignored.
3. Vibration While Driving:
Excessive vibration may indicate tyre imbalance, damage, or alignment problems.
4. Age of the Tyre:
Even if they look fine, tyres degrade over time. Most manufacturers recommend replacing them every six years, regardless of wear.
